WORLD BREASTFEEDING WEEK 2020: Mom2Mom Global is proud to announce our newest initiative, the Military Lactation Counselor® (MiLC®) Training!
What is the MiLC?
>53-hour hybrid course that provides lactation-specific education grounded in health equity and tailored to the unique needs of breastfeeding military families. Recognized by LEAARC as lactation-specific education for those seeking to become certified as IBCLC. CERPs-only options available for those who already hold lactation credentials awards 21.5 L-CERPs and 3 E-CERPs.
>Affordable, equitable way to ensure that all Mom2Mom Global/Breastfeeding in Combat Boots volunteers can attain a lactation credential, so they can provide accurate, evidence-based lactation support, information, and advocacy to military families.
>Dynamic virtual learning experience custom-designed for adult learners from a broad and diverse range of backgrounds, combining self-paced online learning and community-based practical assignments with synchronous learning through our interactive counseling skills development and telehealth lactation internships to prepare anyone from a brand new volunteer to a seasoned healthcare professional to support breastfeeding for military families.
>Exciting and fun learning taught "by us, for us." The course faculty are experts in military breastfeeding who have both professional qualifications and lived experience as breastfeeding military spouses and servicemembers.
>Ideal for military servicemembers or spouses looking to enter the lactation field while balancing the unpredictabilities of military life! Equity pricing and scholarships remove financial barriers to lactation training, and our unique format means you can learn at your own pace, from anywhere in the world.
>A powerful tool for civilian lactation, healthcare, and community workers to learn how to work with Tricare billing, and how to construct culturally sensitive and appropriate care and feeding plans for breastfeeding military families.
